Optimal no of reminders to get a task done in office
Give atleast a week time after you put forward your request
if you are not hurry.
If in hurry still you should give two days interval, if too
urgent then 1 day interval.
send a request indirectly by email.
Text that email sent.
The following day ask whether it is received.You talk
directly,so this is to be taken as first direct contact.
Next week,you may send an indirect reminder followed by
calling up or just call up. This is the second direct contact. After that the
work is supposed to be done in the majority of the case. If it is not done,it
will not be done. If you need to use go up the hierarchy or antoher person or
another sort of lobbying.
If work is done, always thank atleast indirectly and if
suits better directly.
For someone in upper rank, perhaps you may not give reminder
directly. In that case, you may offer your help time to time get the work done
and it would work as a reminder.
