do things with speed but step by step

To reach the goal faster, decrease the time spent in that step but you could not skip the step.

You need to go step by step, there is no shortcut. However, there may be smarter ways around, still those are not shortcuts but intelligent ways to go faster through the steps.

purge ingrained code that is not working

age ingrained code
>>
purge it. anyone could be the boss or superior. We all are equal and given with different roles with same hardness test. For example, GRE one sit for today, another tomorrow and the question may come different, however it is enshrined that test hardness is the same for all.

So call sir to your boss in office, no matter whether senior in age or gender etc.

Greeting ingrained code
>>

purge it.
It is not required to greet when you see someone.
Greeting is an opportunity to earn points. Some will take it, and some not.
Again it is not required to respond to greeting. Responding to greeting is also an opportunity, though a little less than giving, to collect reward.

We all are equal , however not all could be friends or relatives or family members. So dont forcefully think that someone is my friend, it should be mutual. Look into the body language.

salam giving procedure
>>
give salam. If not responded, raise your  hand like a fist,  Do this like for three times. In the fourth time, politely say I have given salam. Now in the fifth time if still not acknowledged, it is up to your decision whether to continue greeting or stop. By the way, once you stop it does not mean you could not start giving salam again in future. With time situation changes, and the unresponding person may start acknowledging to your salam.

Do the opposite thing instead of looking down in first eye contact, keep it ,then go right to left or left to right slowly.Up to down, down to right, then left,up then down, right. This is the rhythm - right left up down right left up down!

Primer about perfume

Types, fact, perfect for whom and definitely price could be found in boots site:

Smell-alike perfumes are supermarket and store-bought own-brand perfumes that have similar smells to the big designer perfume brands - but different names, packaging and, most importantly, different prices. Interesting facts!

eau de is lighter perfume as it says::
don't confuse perfume with the weaker eau de toilette or eau de cologne, as you may find it's a false economy.

As a rough guide, the main tiers of fragrance type are below, ranging from weakest (generally cheapest) to strongest (priciest):
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/Cheap-perfume

As a rough guide, the main tiers of fragrance type are below, ranging from weakest (generally cheapest) to strongest (priciest):

    Splash and aftershave
Low perfume essence at about 1-7%.

    Eau de cologne
Again, lowish perfume essence, at about 2-6%.

    Eau de toilette
Also sometimes known as cologne, contains slightly more perfume essence at about 5-15% (typically about 10%).

    Eau de parfum and perfume
Also called perfume extract, these are top of the range at roughly 10-20% essence (typically about 15%).

The higher the concentration of perfume essence, the longer the perfume's scent will last and the less you'll need - but the more expensive it's likely to be.

do what you love another version according to Kahlil Jibran philosophy

Some people may think they could not be able to do what they like due to different constraints. So they keep themselves idle doing nothing. According Kahlil Jibran philosophy it may be second best option. First option is to do what you love, then if you could not go for it then sit idle, the worst option is to do what you dont like. However, one should try, without trying it is a waste of human potential.

Frame work for a 6 hour work day or 4 day work week

For educational institutions like university may start at 710 am and having 40 minutes class. This way all classes would end up at 110 pm. So people could leave then. Official transport may leave a little later like 2pm. This would encourage staff to take residence around the job site to enjoy the time for another job or business or do what they like.

However if 50 minutes contact hour is to be kept then with 30 minutes break after six  classes.if classes start at 730 am,after six periods at 1230 pm, there would be 30 mts break.it would finish at 330 pm.

Else make half an hour break and finish at 4 pm. That would be more applicable.

Else make one hour break from 1230 pm to 130 pm, starts at 730 am and finishes at 4 pm.

Or it may be a four day week. Each day working hours is  from 710 am to 510 pm. Only 40 minutes break starting at 1pm to 150 pm.

Alternatively just 15 minutes break at 1pm to 115 pm for prayers and finishes  at 445 pm. Another thirty minutes for lunch should be taken by staff when they get the chance preferably between 1230pm to 2 pm.Usually 115 pm to 205 pm class would be off unless required. Routine should be made that way. Then threre would be three day off as weekend including Saturday,Sunday, Monday. Friday may be kept open for masters classes

four day work week

In the tiny African nation of The Gambia, public sector workers will now clock in at 8am and clock out at 6pm, Monday to Thursday. They'll still do a 40-hour week but have the luxury of Friday off.President Jammeh wants the extra rest day to "allow Gambians to devote more time to prayers, social activities and agriculture".

Reduce working week to 30 hours, say economists
A shorter working week would make us healthier, give us more fulfilling and sustainable lives and be better for the environment, economists have suggested
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/jobs/10316850/Reduce-working-week-to-30-hours-say-economists.html
Companies should be encouraged to give workers more time off instead of pay rises, while young people starting out in the job market could work a four-day week, as has happened in the Netherlands, it notes.

The standard working week in the Netherlands should be cut from five days to four days of nine hours, according to the Labour party (PvdA) MP Martijn van Dam says in Saturday’s AD that a four-day week would free up people to do ‘other important things’. In particular, many young mothers suffer from burn-out, Van Dam said

o make sure everyone can work four days a week, the standard number of hours in many pay deals should be cut from 40 to 36. Then people can work four nine-hour days, he told the paper.

Treehouse, who has implemented a year-round four-day workweek, noting higher employee morale, greater focus, and a greater ability to attract and retain top talent among the benefits.

Shorter weeks are also common in Europe. In the Netherlands, four-day work weeks are practically the rule, not the exception.
http://money.cnn.com/2013/07/09/news/economy/shorter-work-week/

The four-day workweek is nearly standard in the Netherlands, especially among working moms.

About 86% of employed mothers worked 34 hours or less each week last year, according to Dutch government statistics. Among fathers, about 12% also worked a shortened workweek.

Dutch laws promote a work-life balance and protect part-time workers. All workers there are entitled to fully paid vacation days, maternity and paternity leave. A law passed in 2000 also gives workers the right to reduce their hours to a part-time schedule, while keeping their job, hourly pay, health care and pro-rated benefits.

Overall, the entire workforce averages around 29 hours a week -- the lowest of any industrialized nation, according to the OECD.

motivation and monitoring both required to get the work done

If salary increased but no monitoring, people may not put more effort in their jobs.

However, no motivation but extreme monitoring may force people to put highest effort in the job.

So there should be a middle ground of motivation and monitoring to properly get the work done.

credit hour definition according to US universities

50 contact minutes is considered as one credit hour
http://hawkcentral.sju.edu/link/portal/16125/16171/Article/565/Academic-Credit-Hour-Policy

Federal Definition of a Unit of Credit

Federal regulations regarding the definition and assignment of credit hours under Section 600.2 and 600.24(f) of the Higher Education Opportunity Act now state, in part, that a unit of credit is:

"An amount of work represented in intended learning outcomes and verified by evidence of student achievement that is an institutionally established equivalency that reasonably approximates not less than:

One hour of classroom or direct faculty instruction and a minimum of two hours of out-of-class student work each week for approximately ... ten to twelve weeks for one quarter hour of credit or the equivalent amount of work over a different period of time; or
At least an equivalent amount of work as required in paragraph (1) of this definition for other academic activities as established by the institution, including laboratory work, internships, practica, studio work, and other academic work leading to the award of credit hours
https://studentaffairs.stanford.edu/registrar/faculty/unit-of-credit

A contact hour includes any lecture or lab time when the professor is teaching the student or coaching the student while they apply the course information to an activity. Regardless of the duration of the course (i.e. a short semester like summer or intersession) and depending on the state or jurisdiction, a semester credit hour (SCH) is 15-16 contact hours per semester. Most college and university courses are 3 Semester Credit Hours (SCH) or 45-48 contact hours, so they usually meet for three hours per week over a 15-week semester.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Course_credit
students are generally expected to spend three hours outside class studying and doing homework for every hour spent in class,[1] 15 SCH is the typical full course load, although many colleges consider 12 SCH a minimum full-time load for financial aid and other purposes.
for laboratory and studio courses as well as physical education courses, internships and practical is usually less than for lectures - typically one credit for every two to three hours spent in lab or studio, depending on the amount of actual instruction necessary prior to lab.

the need of whitespace in design including webdesign

very good article about the need of whitespace in design including webdesign
http://www.seguetech.com/blog/2013/03/20/why-whitespace-important-web-design

Designers adore it. Website owners want to fill it. What is it? Whitespace! Whitespace is one of the most overlooked and underutilized elements that make up a great web layout. Too often, whitespace is seen as empty space and, therefore, a waste of screen real estate. However, the truth is that whitespace is one of the most valuable parts of your design. But why is it so important and how do we make sure it is maintained?

It is the portion of the page left unmarked; the space between graphics, margins and gutters. It is the space between columns, between lines of type or figures that provides visual breathing room for the eye.

small room interior design tips: keep top of things clear

small room, give soothing feeling with keeping majority portion clear on all the stuff visible.

Say you don't have the luxury to a big room and need to many staff in your small room. Try to cover them with paper or curtain or if possible put them in storage medium. Whatever you don't put visible things on top of any storage medium, keep that visible space almost empty. it gives a feeling of openness though the room is congested with loads of stuff.

BERTRAND RUSSELL proposed 4 hour work day in 1932 , efficiency wage theory

BERTRAND RUSSELL, the British philosopher, was not a fan of work. In his 1932 essay, “In Praise of Idleness”, he reckoned that if society were better managed the average person would only need to work four hours a day. Such a small working day would “entitle a man to the necessities and elementary comforts of life.” The rest of the day could be devoted to the pursuit of science, painting and writing.
http://www.economist.com/blogs/freeexchange/2013/09/working-hours

Efficiency wage theory is the idea that firms may permanently hold to a real wage greater than the equilibrium wage.

Efficiency wages are wages that are higher than the market equilibrium. Firms that pay efficiency wages could lower their wages and hire more workers, but choose not to do so.
Some reasons that managers might choose to pay efficiency wages are to avoid shirking, reduce turnover, and attract productive employees.

“highest and best use” (HABU) : do what you love

In real estate, there’s a concept called “highest and best use” (HABU). Properties are valued based on the best use of the land that will produce the highest value. For example, appraisers may value a two-bedroom house on a busy street next to retail shops as if a strip mall occupied the land, because the best use of the property that produces the highest value is a strip mall and not a house. In other words, other two-bedroom houses in the town might be worth $200,000, but an investor may pay $600,000 just for the land in order to build a strip-mall.

Greetings bring you benefit or points to you or the other person. It also denotes close ones and in generally only around  10 close folks. So there is nothing personal if your greeting not responded or someone does not greet you. Just focus on whether someone is doing his job at average standard.

If you greet a person you would get 1 lac tk reward. If you greet first to a lower status person, you get 10 lac tk reward. The person acknowledges the greeting gets 10000 tk reward. If not acknowledged, it is deducted from his reward points. So if someone does not acknowledge you he is on loss.

Money as differentiator whenever possible.

Complain for the benefit of others though the experience is yours. So don't get too personal. Try to help others to improve.

Follow the time schedule that you make earlier. You are free to change any time but it should be written. Generally our procrastinator loving self would not change the schedule as it takes some task of writing to change!

use Mr and passive

In Bangla, many words are used from English.

So if you are in dilemma what should be salutation, use Mr irrespective of status and talk in passive form without the need of using Tumi or apni. However, better if could be completely egalitarian as in English, everyone could be called with you and first name.

For higher up, you may use their job title like Head or chief or professional title like Engr.

Wherever possible use money as the differentiation for service.

In the bank, special service may be provided with a special fee or who has deposited lot of money, not on who is working where.

Wherever possible use money as the differentiation for service.

However natural inequality like gender and age may be used sparingly. In most cases, try to avoid to use job position for service discrimination.

Some good practice may be: First come first service, lottery.

greetings not acknowledged

For worldly matters, look into whether things are done as per procedures. If that is ok, that's fine whether a greeting given or acknowledged.

So you may greet someone and get the reward point. If the other person acknowledges he also gets some reward point. If he does not acknowledge, you should not be angry, its ok.

In generally, we greet people we like or family members or relatives. So one has the very freedom to give or acknowledge greetings of a specific person.

Life Philosophy: All are EQual

All are equal, just put to different setting but the exam hardness is the same.

Try to do well with your passion. Passion is the guideline given by the exam. So try to excel. It is ok to get more money and enjoy within the regulations. There are certain common things like prayers and common rituals that you need to regardless of the situation.

In case you could not be that passionate for a specific worldly thing or find it hard to follow the path, better increase the spiritual things as you don't need any specific material.

So which path is better? Well, both are ok depending on situation and that's the beauty - all are equal. If you are born in a rich family or blessed with high IQ, it may be worthy to go through excel in worldly things as that is the easy path for you.

On the other hand, a person who is born in poor family or have low IQ, it may be easir for him to follow the more spiritual path like doing more prayers and rituals. However,he has to earn living for his family if he is a male.

Now man is born with freewill. So if a rich person wants to follow more spiritual path or a poor person wants to follow more worldly path, its his decision and at the end the hardness of the exam remains the same.

So nothing worry if you are not better off in worldly things, its all equal at the end of the day.

hide principle, keep only spark of joy items: interior design and decluttering tips

pegboard behind your monitor may be a hiding place

Hide stuff. My husband and I hide things from each other. If one of us is traveling alone, the other does a little decluttering and hides something or a few things. If we can’t guess what’s missing, it’s an automatic donation. It’s fun to guess what’s missing and reminds us that we are in this together.
http://bemorewithless.com/how-to-make-decluttering-fun/

Get Rid of Things: Chances are you don't need most of the papers that you're keeping — shred them. If you haven't worn that sweater for three years, donate it. Expired food should be tossed. Clearing out even a few items will make you feel calmer.
http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/top-5-strategies-for-de-cluttering-a-small-space-167741

Only keep those items that give you a “spark of joy.”

The most illuminating principle from Kondo is this: Only keep things that give you a “spark of joy.” The author advises starting with clothes because we tend to have less sentimental attachment to them (with some exceptions). She says to take every single item of clothing out of your closets, dressers, etc., and lay them on the ground. Then pick up each item, one at a time, and ask yourself, “Does this give me a spark of joy?” If yes—keep it. If no—donate it. It’s that simple.

Have a designated place for everything (and I mean everything).

The wisdom of Tidying Up isn’t so much how to organize but simply that once you are left with only the items you love, make a place for each and every one of them.

Declutter stuff that’s not First Class

I teach women in my Money Bootcamp to create their version of a First Class life. That means getting rid of everything that’s Economy class. It’s anything in your life where you’ve compromised, kept yourself small or sacrificed what you really want for the cheaper version.

>>

Group and Elegantly Hide Like Items Together
If you consolidate like items, a couple of neat things often happen naturally.

One, you will realize you have duplicates, triplicates, quadruplicates and feel fine about casting off the extras. Second, seeing all these things together (such as your cleaning supplies or electronic chargers) means you probably won't have to buy more of the same, preventing additional clutter.

These items can then be grouped and hidden elegantly in a handmade basket or stylishly trimmed box instead of scattered randomly throughout your home.

Hide Stuff With Curtains

Discreetly placing things behind curtains is a great design option for those with lots of stuff but little storage space.

For example, you might build floor-to-ceiling shelving and cover with full-length curtains to hide your cache of clothing, accessories, and personal supplies in your bedroom. Alternatively, conceal clutter in your home office by storing items on a shelf and covering with a custom-made curtain. (See also: DIY Curtains)
http://www.wisebread.com/this-is-how-you-declutter-and-keep-your-stuff-too

Toss Stuff You Truly Don't Need or Want Pronto
Get rid of stuff you are sure you don't need or want immediately. Don't wait until you finish decluttering the entire house. Carry unneeded and unwanted items to the Goodwill store, rescue mission, or other place that accepts your old things as quickly as possible. (See also: 10 Frugal Ways to Get Rid of Stuff)

Store Things in Out-Of-The-Way Places
Collect storage bins and boxes as you declutter or acquire them after you've finished going through every section of your living space. Store rarely needed items that can withstand extremes of hot and cold in your attic or basement. Put stuff you occasionally need in specialty bins under beds, odd corners of utility rooms or garages, unused shelves of your closets, and other accessible places out of casual view.

You don't have to become a minimalist to live in a clutter-free home. Get rid of what you no longer want; organize and display or store the rest.

how to keep toilet or washroom or bathroom floor dry

The best and the most effective way to keep floors dry is to sweep up the water after you finish bathing or if you accidentally drop some water. In this way it takes less time for the tiles to dry up and it gives a crisp feeling. By sweeping we don't mean that you have to take your house broom and start sweeping. There is a rubber mob with a stand that is very useful in this regard. It has a broad flat face with which you can pull and channelize all the water towards the opening of the drain.

Read more at: http://www.boldsky.com/home-n-garden/improvement/2011/bathroom-floor-dry-250811.html

@For Bangladesh and subcontinent where it is pricey and brooms become dirty quickly, a better option is to use traditional broom that does not cleaning or replacing that often.

: Keep Things Put Away
Strive to have near-empty surfaces in your bathroom. Have a home for everything behind closed doors in a vanity or cupboard. As a side note, shoving things into a drawer or into a cabinet is not considered a “home” for your items. Your goal is to have an actual space, preferably labeled, where each item is always kept. - See more at: http://www.quickanddirtytips.com/house-home/housekeeping/how-to-keep-your-bathroom-clean-without-cleaning#sthash.L6OSyXGy.dpuf

Unfortunately, there’s no real way to make a toilet brush look like anything other than a toilet brush, but you can get ones that are hidden or small. If you get a smaller one, you can likely stash it behind your toilet where no one else can see it, but you know it’s there. Or, you can get a bigger one that comes in its own hiding container - See more at: http://www.quickanddirtytips.com/house-home/housekeeping/how-to-keep-your-bathroom-clean-without-cleaning#sthash.L6OSyXGy.dpuf

interior decoration tips: can't reach, use removable paper or cloth.

In some part of the furniture like the top of a bookshelf or wardrobe, it is difficult to reach without a ladder. In such places those could not be viewed, newspaper or calendar pages may be put on. After a month or so, just remove the newspaper pager or calendar page and put on a new newspaper page or calendar page. So dust gathers on the top of that paper and you just remove it to clean. Great. It is also best in dusty weather to cover up things with transparent plastic. One may use plastic wrap used in clothing like shirt.

strike through writing with a marker if you use some box some purpose or cover with colored paper.

walking style called gait analysis and suggestions for confident gait

Great article with image about perfect male gait with confidence
http://bonytobeastly.com/ectomorph-aesthetics-full-article/

walking gait reflects personality. It may be suggested  one is hand like u and body move left and right like model. Other is stragith with chin up and shoes are pointed like V . The pace should be mild. My youngest brother Sohel uses the last one.

GAIT is the normal manner of walking
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j4YRHf6Iyo
Gait analysis has attracted attention because of the shortcomings of other biometric security techniques. Iris scans and face recognition require reasonably high-quality images, for example. They also generally require a cooperative subject, as do fingerprints. By contrast, a person’s gait can be recognised from low-quality CCTV footage.

here’s a phrase “don’t judge a book by it’s cover”, but first impressions are powerful. Your body language speaks volumes about you and people use what they see to size you up. The way you walk is a big part of your body language and can reveal interesting insights into your personality? So what do your hoofing habits reveal about you? Walk this way to find out:
http://www.hithenews.com/the-way-you-walk-is-a-gait-way-to-your-personality-101.html

Confident walkers give the impression that they can. Their confidence shows in their posture and stride. These people walk with their shoulders square and their head held high. They have a purposeful stride that shows they are comfortable with themselves and that they know where they are going.

there’s evidence that you can change your mood by altering your walk. To muster more confidence, raise your eyes and try to pick up your pace, taking longer strides instead of small steps.

suggestion on walking

walk this way

Relax shoulders and keep them back and down

Stand tall with a slightly lifted chest and a straight back

Opt for a rucksack that distributes weight evenly across shoulders

Bend arms 90 degrees at the elbow and swing in time with the opposite leg. This balances the body

Point chin down and pull in slightly to place neck in a neutral position. This supports the head and prevents neck pain

Check hips are level; knees pointing forwards. keep pelvis tucked under torso

Check steps are of equal length

Don't tilt your head to one side, hold it straight

    Don't slump your shoulders

Don't strike the ground with your toe first. use your heel first, then feel the pressure roll towards balls of your feet, then push off your toes

Use logo tags instead of printing on the bag. Add colorful luggage tags with the logo. They will look better and make the conference bag more desirable. Plus, you can use several for conference sponsors.

Shredding: using electric shredder and without any machine shredder

how to manually shred paper without using electric or mechanical shredder machine
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
http://lifehacks.stackexchange.com/questions/4117/how-to-shred-papers-letters-without-using-a-shredder-machine

@following the suggestion of the lifehack, I also thing water method is a good one. For more safety you may strike through the important no and name ,address in the document with a pen, then tear manually to several parts, then dip into water[may use 2 litre empty water or soft drink or oil plastic bottle]. When you dip the paper into the water, some ink immediately goes off and others get blurred. Thus you will get a near good security like a pricey shredder. With the water little bit soap may be mixed.

Less costly mechanical option:paper shredding scissors? Basically they are a pair of scissors with multiple (~5) blades and you can use these to quickly shred your paper.

Fire: if possible burn them and make it void for good. However, look into security concerns.

Shredder Terms
Capacity: The maximum number of 80gsm sheets supported by the shredder in one pass.
Bin Capacity (litres): The volume of waste generated by a cross-cut shredder is up to 80% lower than a strip cut.
Speed: This is based on the approximate number of 80gsm sheets shredded per minute.
Duty Cycle: This is the maximum time of continuous use.
Sound Level: Noise measured in decibels emitted during use.
Maintenance: For proper operation of the cross-cut shredders regularly grease them.

Cross-Cut vs. Strip Cut
The difference between a cross-cut and a strip cut is simple; cross-cut shredders have an enhanced security cut that delivers secure shredding whilst strip-cut shredders are good for basic shredding. In addition, the volume of waste generated by a cross-cut shredder is up to 80% lower than a strip cut.

Understanding Security Levels
The security level of a shredder is measured by the size of the debris of the destroyed document (the smaller they are the higher security level). Take a look at the list below to compare the different security levels.
Choosing a Shredder
P-1: Shredded data can be reproduced without special equipment, although time-consuming.
P-2: Shredded data can be reproduced with equipment, although time-consuming.
P-3: Shredded data can only be reproduced with considerable effort and special equipment. Use for sensitive, confidential, and personal data.
P-4: Shredded data can only be reproduced using equipment not normally available commercially. Use for particularly sensitive, confidential, and personal data.
P-5: Shredded data is unlikely to be reproduced with state of the art equipment. Use for confidential information.
P-6: Shredded data cannot be reproduced with state of the art equipment. Use for confidential information demanding an exceptionally high level of security.
P-7: Shredded data cannot be reproduced with the current state of science and art. Use for strictly confidential information demanding the highest security precautions.

Mementos not to be kept : decluttering

memento will not last forever. So if something may not be useful to others, throw it away. If you have space, then only keep a little bit, but make sure that such memento only keep highest 10 percent of your space. Besides, now a days digital thins are there. So if you need to keep, keep it in digital format.

Nice way mentioned here about mementos management:

Sweden has now 6 Hour Workday and Norway has 8am to 4 pm workday(8 hours including 30 mt break)

From October 2015, Sweden officially launched all across the sectors 6 hours work day
>>>>Sweden introduces six hour work day
Employers across the country including retirement homes, hospitals and car centres, are implementing the change
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/sweden-introduces-six-hour-work-day-a6674646.html

Toyota centres in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city, made the switch 13 years ago, with the company reporting happier staff, a lower turnover rate, and an increase in profits in that time.

Filimundus, an app developer based in the capital Stockholm, introduced the six-hour day last year.

“The eight-hour work day is not as effective as one would think," Linus Feldt, the company’s CEO told Fast Company.

Mr Feldt has said staff members are not allowed on social media, meetings are kept to a minimum, and that other distractions during the day are eliminated -  but the aim is that staff will be more motivated to work more intensely while in the office.

He said the new work day would ensure people have enough energy to pursue their private lives when they leave work – something which can be difficult with eight-hour days.

“My impression now is that it is easier to focus more intensely on the work that needs to be done and you have the stamina to do it and still have the energy left when leaving the office,” Mr Feldt added.

Why Sweden Is Shifting To A 6-Hour Workday
http://www.fastcoexist.com/3051448/why-sweden-is-shifting-to-a-6-hour-work-day

Be more focused, have fewer meetings—and then go home early. It sounds like a dream, but it can work.

Norway's usual working hours for both public and private is 8am to 4 pm.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
http://www.expatarrivals.com/norway/working-in-norway
Norway’s work culture is generally very supportive of employees, and puts a strong emphasis on balancing the demands of one's work and home life. A Norwegian boss may even be concerned that an employee is working too hard or too much.

Working hours are normally 8am to 4pm, with exceptions made for parents with small children, personal appointments, illness, and national holidays. If there's a lot of snow or the day is unusually warm, the office may empty early. By law, employees have four to five weeks of holiday.

Colleagues with families can usually leave work to pick up their kids from school, or go straight home without stopping to socialise. Expats may search the office at 4.05pm, only to find that all their local colleagues have already gone home. Don’t expect Norwegians to work after hours. Some expats find that outside of work hours, the office can be a lonely place. International companies are increasingly using English as the working language, but there is still a strong emphasis placed on Norwegian in the office space.

@In the above site, working hour span is shown to be longer. But it is the allowed thing in Norway whereas practice is to follow lesser working hours of 8am to 4pm

Norway's strict labour laws mean most offices in the capital Oslo are empty after 16:00

CNN findings about Norway's shortest work week

norway

    Average hours per week: 33
    Average annual wages: $44,000

Norway's labor laws are among the most generous in the world, granting workers a minimum of 21 paid vacation days a year and often allowing parents with young children the right to reduce their hours.

In addition, maternity leave can extend to 43 weeks at full pay, or 53 weeks at reduced pay.

Part-time work is common, especially among women, and overall, workers average 33 hours of work per week.

wikipedia's listing on working hours at different countries

It is bit confusing as Bangladesh and Sweden both have 8 hours max per day. However in Sweden as of 2015, staff at public offices enjoy just 6 hours per day.

importance and tips on the use of empty space aka negative space or white space

Empty space is very important for interior design. If possible, keep around 80 to 60 percent empty space in any interior design.

When you put a table, font put more than 40 percent things on the table top. In other storage devie try not to put something on top that are view able. Or even try not to put anything in cover on top of the storage.

Use concealed storage to store things. In case you could not buy or build storage devices, pile up and then cover up with atleast by white paper or clothing.

My above thought is alos endorsed by the following Zen decoration guideline:
To some people, a Zen aesthetic is all about clear, open (even empty) spaces, featuring concealed storage and minimal decoration.
- See more at: http://www.dreamhomedecorating.com/zen-interior-design.html

The overall goal of Zen interior design is to create a peaceful, inspiring home that looks good without looking dressed up. (Here are some photos!) To create the look, combine any or all of the following elements of Zen decorating:

simple contemporary table and chair

?   Clean straight lines: nothing that's visually busy;

?   Built-in, concealed storage;

?   Open, clear spaces (zero clutter);

?   Natural, beautiful but unfussy materials;

?   Quality but simple furnishings: nothing 'bling' or high-maintenance, nothing that screams for attention or tries to impress;

?   Low-impact colors taken from nature, a minimum of (subtle) pattern;

?   Quality rather than quantity;

?   A calm overall look (you get enough stimulation when you step outside the front door ;-)

1. Calm, clear, pure, wide open - you can create these qualities in your home as well as your mind. (In fact, creating them in your home  will help you create them in your mind.)

The purpose of decorating Zen style is to turn your home into a sanctuary, a soothing, tranquil place of respite from the rush and emotional demands of the outside world.  Here's how to "do" basic Zen interior design:

contemporary German living room

?   Reduce the color palette to calm, 'quiet' colors (like neutrals, water and earth tones).

?   Not sure how to use neutrals? Download my free e-book!

?   Gradually take away all clutter, including ...

?   small decorative items (even if they're pretty, they count as visual 'clutter')

?   things you don't actually use

?   things with an obvious pattern

?   area rugs (particularly if they're colorful and eye-catching)

?   Clear all surface spaces (walls, floor, tables and other furniture) as much as you possibly can. (More about this on the page about Zen Decorating!)

Looking at this list, you might find that Zen interior design is a fairly radical concept. But it doesn't have to be.  You could, for example, start with one area, even a very small one; if you have a home office, it could just be a part of your desk.

Decide that nothing is going to encroach on this free space. It holds no things that could demand your attention - just a clear, calm, empty space to rest your eyes on.

Any part of your home could become an experimental Zen decorating zone like that: a hallway table, a sideboard or coffee table, an empty wall painted in a pure, 'translucent' color.

PAaint or wallpaper your bookcases.

This instant pop of color will brighten and re-energize any room! It’s amazing how something so simple as a coat of colorful paint can instantly energize and transform your space. This built-in bookcase would be simple and ordinary without the bright blue interior. Perhaps the simplest and most inexpensive way to transform a boring space is to apply a coat of paint somewhere unexpected. Bookcases are an ideal place to start because you don’t need to paint a large area. Other fun places to add a pop of color include painting fireplace mantels, the insides of closets, hallways and ceilings.

Area rug
Hardwood floors are beautiful and easy to maintain but they lack the comfort that carpeted floors offer, especially in the cooler months. Area rugs can add fun and functionality to your living space. Use several of varying patterns and fabrics together to showcase your character. Or add several rugs of the same pattern and fabric, or different textures but the same color

negative space

One of the easiest ways to achieve this level of simplicity is to remove all unnecessary design elements. What you’ll have left is a lot of unused space leaving only key elements that reflect your core message.

Every blank space left unused is called “negative space,”, aka “empty/white space”. What is unfortunate is that most people are lured to fill it up with useless noise thereby demonstrating a lack of design experience,. Most novice presenters assume that every single inch of a slide should be stuffed with information, from graphs, charts, texts, and images. As long as there’s unused space, they think there’s room to add more elements to it.

The truth is, this space isn’t even empty at all!

For you to better understand the importance of empty space, let’s think about interior design and art galleries. Notice how most showrooms are contain an abundance of empty space or white walls. It’s not that they don’t have enough material to fill the space with, it’s that they use this empty space to highlight what’s already in it.

This is the same with slides. It is never “wasted” space because it allows your main elements more breathing room. Thus, allowing your audience the ease to soak everything up rather than having to meticulously scan around the slide before understanding what you’re trying to say.

color effect
>>
exposure to both blue and green has been shown to enhance performance on tasks that require generating new ideas. However, the color red has been linked with superior performance on tasks involving attention to detail. Another study out this year showed that a dimmer environment fostered superior creativity in terms of idea generation, probably because it encourages a feeling of freedom. On the other hand, brighter light levels were more conducive to analytical and evaluative thinking.

ceiling height
>>
A 2007 study found that a higher ceiling was associated with feelings of freedom, together with a more abstract and relational thinking style that helped participants see the commonalities between objects and concepts.

Make use of plants and windows
>>>>

If you only do one thing to optimize your workspace, invest in a green plant or two. Research has repeatedly shown that the presence of office plants has a range of benefits including helping workers recover from demanding activities and lowering stress levels. As a bonus, there’s also evidence that plants can reduce office pollution levels.

Another feature of an optimized office is a window with a view, preferably of a natural landscape. This is because a glance at the hills or a lake recharges your mind. Obviously a view of nature isn’t possible for many people who work in cities, but even in an urban situation, a view of trees or intricate architecture have both been linked with restorative benefits. If you can’t negotiate a desk with a view, another plan is to choose an office in your building that’s the shortest stroll from an urban park. A visit here will revitalize your mind and compensate for your lack of a view.

Arrogance, Pride, Vanity :reflection from Imam Ghazali

"""It's always better to be a humble sinner than an arrogant
worshipper.""""""""""
- Imam Ghazali

Book of Imam Ghazali
>>>
Imam Ghazali writes about Pride and Vanity
http://oll.libertyfund.org/titles/1845
The full book in English could be found in the Liberty Fund online library link given above.

One time the people saw Abu
Bakr radi allahu `anhu (may Allah be pleased with him) sewing the
soles of his own shoes.

They exclaimed, “You are Amir al Mumineen (leader of the Believers)!”
He said, “Me? I’m nothing. Who am I?”
http://www.virtualmosque.com/personaldvlpt/character/overcoming-arrogance/

Hasan Al Basry was the greatest scholar in his area. He used to
say, “I will not leave a room until I feel that I am worse than
everybody in the room.”

Imam al-Shaarawi, one of the great scholars of Qur’anic
interpretation in the last 100 years in Egypt, used to give a dars
(lesson) every Friday on TV. About seven million people would be
watching.

One day, Imam Shaarawi came to the masjid in Cairo. Suddenly he got up
and left. Now, those of you who have been to Muslim countries know
that at Maghrib time the public restrooms in masjids are really bad.

A man came into the restroom and found Sheikh Shaarawi, who was about
seventy-five, scrubbing the toilets in his Azhari dress. The man said,
“Subhan Allah! Sheikh Shaarawi, how come you’re doing this?”

He replied, “I was sitting in the masjid and I started to think I’m
this great Qur’anic scholar. So I wanted to kill this arrogance.” He
was scrubbing the toilets in the robes of ‘ulema to break himself and
make himself humble.

6 Wills of Imam Ghazali r.a.
(1) When you meet an ignorant, take them as more noble because when they do commit sins, it is due to their ignorance, WHILE we commit sins realizing its consequences.

(2) When you meet a child, take them as more noble too as compared to yourself, as they are not yet burdened with sins.

(3) When you meet the elders, take them as more noble, for they've spent more time on ibadah and taubat as compared to yourself.

(4) When you meet the pious people, take them too as noble than you, for they have vast knowledge and also spend most of their time performing ibadah.

(5) When you meet the sinners, do not quickly take yourself as a great and noble person, but instead, say this to yourself, "Just maybe, they will repent later in their lives, but what about our own ending?"

(6) When you meet the disbelievers, know that its not certain that they will end up being one forever.

Imam Ghazali r.a. has taught us to educate our hearts by constantly reflecting on our deeds, be more humble by observing your own actions rather than condemning others.
http://simplydeen786.blogspot.com/2013/06/6-wills-of-imam-ghazali-ra.html
The second form of looking down on people is position. When someone gets a position and they feel proud of themselves, for example they boast, “Yeah, I’m MSA President now” or “I’m a big Sheikh.” Position can be in a lot of things: family, money, position in an organization, or academic position. For example, “I made the Dean’s list every year”. But have you made Allah’s list? This is the danger of position.
